The short version: you can use every part of Dhikr Island without telling us who you are. If you choose to sign in, we hold your name and email address and nothing else. We do not sell anything to anyone, ever.
We hold nothing about you. No account, no name, no email address, no advertising, no tracking, and no profile of any kind.
Your choice of icon, theme, dhikr, language, and appearance is stored on your iPhone. It is also copied to your own private iCloud so that it follows you to a new phone. We cannot read it — it sits in your iCloud account, not ours.
Signing in is optional and the app is complete without it. It exists so your name can appear on your own menu screen, and so that we can tell which of our subscribers is which when you write to us for help.
We then hold three things: the name you chose to share, your email address, and an identifier that means nothing outside this app.
With Apple, you may use Hide My Email, in which case the address we hold forwards to you and we never learn your real one.
With Google, Google handles the sign-in and passes us your name and email address. What Google does with the fact that you signed in is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
You can erase all of it at any time — Menu, then Sign in, then Delete account. It is deleted immediately and completely.
On Google's Firebase service, in the United States. Google processes it on our instructions and does not use it for anything of its own.
Only the developer of this app can read it. There is no other staff.
It is never sold, never rented, never shared for advertising, and never handed to anyone else — except where the law compels us, which has not happened.
Apple handles all payment. We never see your card, your billing address, or your Apple ID.
Apple tells us when a subscription starts, renews, lapses or is refunded, so that we know who our subscribers are. That record holds the plan, the dates, and — only if you signed in — which account it belongs to.
A subscriber who never signed in is recorded without any name attached. Their subscription works exactly the same.
The app downloads its icons and wording from our server so that new ones can be added without an App Store update. Making that request reveals your IP address to Google's servers, as visiting any website does. It is not stored by us and is not connected to you.
Everything the app needs is also built into it, so it works with no connection at all.
If you write to us through the Support screen, your message opens in your own mail app and is sent by you. We then hold your email and what you wrote, for as long as it takes to answer you and a reasonable period afterwards. It is never used for anything else.
Your account details, for as long as you have an account. Delete it and they go immediately.
Subscription records, for seven years after the subscription ends, because tax law requires records of sales.
Support messages, for two years.
The app is suitable for all ages, and a child can use every part of it without signing in. We do not knowingly hold information about anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has signed in, write to us and it will be deleted.
You may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Write to us from the Support screen and we will answer within thirty days.
The quickest route to erasure is in the app itself: Menu, Sign in, Delete account.
If you are in the UK or the European Union you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
This policy will change as the app changes. Where a change means we hold something new about you, the app will say so plainly before it does.
